Lincoln City sunset
Lincoln City is a good choice for a quick getaway at the coast. I’d forgotten how much gentler the drive is along Highway 18 – less hilly and bendy than Highway 26 to Seaside. Beautiful verdant pastureland as well as lush forests along the way – with the occasional clearcut (being photographed by Asian tourists when we passed) to remind us all how blessed we are when the trees grow tall.
We stayed at the Surftides Inn, our anniversary treat in lieu of my usual whatever’s-cheapest-and-halfway-decent method of picking lodging. Oceanfront, very nice. Good restaurant options throughout the town, fun shopping at the Outlet Mall and Goodwill. And of course the long walk on the beach, to get this photo and breathe the fresh ocean air. Lovely.
