At last!

And about time. The Water Bureau today announced the City of Portland has the capacity to accept water/sewer bill payments on line. For literally years, this has been the only repeating bill I’ve had to mail in – all my others take automatic bank or telephone transfers. Hooray – no more missed deadlines! In an astonishing turn of events, I actually mailed in the last one on time, otherwise I would have registered immediately. Does anyone know if the system is set up to take automatic transfers for each cycle, or whether we have to authorize each bill’s payment? Regardless, I’m happy that the chances of Chez Fritz receiving a shut-off notice, because the bill envelope got lost in the pile of non-profit membership renewal requests, are now greatly reduced.

Obviously, another triumph for the Commission form of government 🙂
