White River Falls
Unexpected. Not Niagara Falls, but with a 90′ drop and something of a horse-shoe shape, White River Falls is reminiscent of the American Falls at 70 – 110′ deep. And they don’t have mountains in the background, in New York.
The White River is a tributary of the Deschutes; this photo was taken just a short drive from yesterday’s shot of Sherars Falls. I am more used to Steve’s “let’s go see a waterfall” expeditions ending with something like yesterday’s image. Now this, this is a waterfall! Well worth the short walk from the road, especially with the spray frozen into ice coating everything around.
