Portland Parks budget meeting
Tomorrow, Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) will hold their Community Budget Meeting, rescheduled from last Thursday when it looked like the snow might linger longer than it did. Sadly, the meeting tomorrow conflicts with the regularly-scheduled East Portland Parks Committee meeting. “Sad” because there are only two neighborhood district parks committees in the city, so it is unfortunate the rescheduled time smacks against one of them. Especially since another meeting crucial to parks advocates, the South Tabor Neighborhood Association’s discussion with Ombudsman Michael Mills on the public process for review of maintenance facilities, did go ahead as planned last Thursday. Oh well. From the PP&R site:
Tuesday, January 23, 2007
Oregon State Office Building
800 NE Oregon Street
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
“Learn about PP&R’s approach to the ’07-’08 budget and the components of the draft proposed 2007-2008 budget.”
“This is an opportunity to comment before the budget is finalized and the Budget Document is compiled.”
Is it worth your time to attend? I can’t say for sure. As with many issues in the City of Portland, going may not make any difference, but staying home surely will not. I plan to participate.
