Edwards out – ask Obama!

The Forest Grove News-Times reports that John Edwards has pulled out of his scheduled debate with Jack Kemp, which was to have been the Tom McCall Forum featured event in March. I had tickets, purchased as a League of Women Voters fundraiser, and I’m very disappointed. Senator Edwards is an amazing speaker and seems to be a truly good man; I was looking forward to seeing him live.

Meanwhile, Barack Obama sent me a personal e-mail this morning, informing me of his decision to form an exploratory committee to run for President. He’ll be making an announcement in Illinois on February 10th. Darn nice of him to let me know.

Score in today’s round: Edwards 0, Obama 1. It’s early in the game yet, but these are the kinds of trivial actions people remember when choosing which candidate to vote for.
