Guest Photograph – Snow on a War Memorial in England

My brother, Peter Jones, took this photo during their snowstorm last week. He lives in Chesham, on the edge of the Green Belt – London’s equivalent of the Urban Growth Boundary, except the British ones (established in 1948) don’t expand. The statue in the heart of the town is a War Memorial, listing the names of fallen soldiers in the first and second World Wars. Almost every city, town, and village in Britain has such a monument – a daily reminder of the human cost of war.
