Barbie’s Dream Cache

Geocaching is a little like searching for the Rose Festival medallion, except instead of written clues, players hunt using Global Positioning System (GPS) coordinates. And there isn’t just one medallion – anyone can hide a treasure and post its location code. When a hunter finds the cache, they often write in a booklet inside it to mark their triumph. Some take trinkets to exchange with ones inside the cache.

Steve found Barbie’s Dream Cache a while ago, and showed it to me on our way home from our anniversary trip. It’s in a very special place. Don’t post its location here if you go looking and find it – that wouldn’t be in the spirit of the game. It will be good weather for geocaching this weekend, for those who don’t have to work. I hope everyone has good times, whatever you choose to do.
