The Odd Couple?

This afternoon, I’ll be in a Hillsboro radio studio with Dave Lister, who once again is guest hosting the Jayne Carroll Show on KUIK, westside talk radio. My segment will air live on AM 1360, from 4 – 5 p.m. We’ll likely take phone calls at 503-648-0101, toll free 1-877-640-1360.

Dave is a small business owner who writes articles for Brainstorm NW, a business-oriented monthly magazine. His viewpoint is often more conservative than mine. I greatly appreciate people who can disagree on some issues – even some passionately held – and yet recognize that there can be other areas with complete concordance. Dave said some things in his 2006 run against Erik Sten that made my jaw drop and blood pressure rise – likely he felt the same about some of my statements. But we worked together on the No on 26-91 “Strong Mayor” ballot measure campaign, and purchased a joint Voters Pamphlet statement showing we agree sometimes, too.

You will probably hear comments in both categories if you tune in this afternoon.
